Hi-5’s star player of the night, Lawrence Rollon, gave meaning to his role after bagging a complete 26 point shock giving way to an early lead for Hi-5 against the Rollers after he bagged 6 points speedily in the first quarter securing a steady 2 point lead over them, 12-10.
Rollon canned another 6 points in the second quarter playing side by side fiercely with teammate Frank Macahito who chipped in 4 points in the last minute of the quarter to widen the secure 2 point gap to 4 points by the time the siren rang to seal the first half of the game shut, 24-20.
Rollon was on fire and jumping into the band wagon was teammate Ariel Urbano. After Urbano was fouled by Jerry Mabini half way through the third quarter he was able to successfully shoot two charity shots generously helping team Hi-5 out.
Rollon was able to keep the 4 point lead and turn it into a 42-36 deficit by the end of the quarter after he and Urbano collared 6 points a piece.
The final quarter was great opportunity for the Rollers to catch up. But the Rollers were not only against team Hi-5 but also the time as well.
Jerry Mabini, Damart Teregeyo, Ralph Francisco of the Rollers was only able to knock down 4 points a piece after repeatedly losing possession of the ball.
Team Hi-5’s defense was just too hard for them to breach causing too many unwanted fouls that the Rollers could not afford in the last 3 minutes of the game.
The game was tied at 51 points all after Lawrence Rollon saved his team by a jump shot. Jerry Mabini was then fouled and he only knocked out one charity out of the two that he was given.
Ariel Urbano was then fouled by Jerry Mabini bagging in one charity shot to tie again with the Rollers, 54 points all. In the last 15 seconds of the game Lawerence saved Hi-5 with a jump shot to give them leverage against the Rollers.
Hi-5 then burned out the remaining time, while the Rollers attempted several down town shots hoping to launch a big rally but none made it.
Team Hi-5 then relaxed in the last 7 seconds of the game to receive their winning approval from their coach and fans alike for a legendary 2 point win, 56-54.
