Hocog half way to August Ace title

RGA publicity chairman Jess Wabol scheduled the August Ace tournament for Sunday at the Marianas Country Club Golf Resort, the same golf course where Hocog won the qualifying round last July 31 beating new comer, Eric Lizama by five strokes.

Hocog’s 69 is the net to beat in order to grab from him the coveted monthly RGA crown.

RGA golfers will have to check in at 11 a.m., and get themselves ready to swing at 12 noon.

If Hocog defends his qualifying net, he will join RGA’s other monthly aces including July Ace Dwain Stephens who also finished 69 against Tars Olopai, and vie for the Ace of the Aces tournament in December.

Meanwhile, Wabol wants to remind RGA members of the agreement to have pot luck on Sunday. The venue for hosting, he said, will be announced later.

Wabol also would like to congratulate Ned Q. Norita for finishing second in the Men’s A-Flight of last weekend’s 16th Annual Tournament of Champions at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort.

With 161 net, Norita was behind Do Hyun Kim who shot 160 to top the tournament. Yong Woon Choz who posted 163 placed third.

Wabol also thanked the other 11 RGA members who supported the TOC.
