Hocog shoots 63 to win RGA April Ace crown

Hocog took the lead in the front nine firing par 36 and did not fall behind that much in the back nine with 40 to win his first RGA monthly crown.

The 13-handicapper whose longtime thirst for the title earned him “The Under Dog” moniker.

Now no longer the RGA’s underdog, Hocog who grossed 76 and finished with a net of 63 also had the greenies in the Hole No. 3 and has finally secured a slot in the club championship that will be held at the end of this year.

Coming second was 16-handicapper, Ray Tigilao who shot 2-over par 38 in the front nine but struggled in the back nine grossing 46 for a net of 68.

Joe Wabol who was way behind in the first half of the course still managed to get the third place as he improved to 41 gross which his 24 handicap trimmed down to 69.

Jess Wabol who went one stroke under par 35 in the back nine settled for the fourth place as he ended up with 70 net.

Tony Satur and Asterio Tawanpiy were tied at 73. The latter who fired 2-over par 38 in the front nine clinched the fifth place on score card playoff.

Ed Tenorio finished three strokes over par 75; Ulysses Kapileo, 76; Manny Mangarero and  Yong Bae tied at 78;

Tars Olopai, 80; Diwain Stephen, 83; Jesse K. Seman, 84 Jordon Kosam, 85;  Jose Saures, 89 and Nick Leon Guerrero, 91.

Yong Bae had the greenies in the Hole No. 13.
