KHS Lady Ayuyus crushed SSHS Lady Rays, 39-19.
Hofschneider practically rained the courtside of Lady Rays’ with a series of easy baskets, as SSHS squad were remiss in sinking shots for, perhaps, the longest time in JV girls basketball.
Thanks to Hofschneider, the game did not become boring with her posting 21 points, allowing Lady Ayuyus advance little by little in a match wrinkled by lots of turnovers, errors in ball handling, line violations, and fouls on both benches.
It was a slow scoring match between KHS and SSHS but Hofschneider did her job as a guard-forward of KHS Lady Ayuyus, connecting to the basket in close-range while her team’s opponent could not muster good shots for several minutes that run from the first quarter down to the fourth.
SSHS Lady Rays were not able to score a single shot in the third period. Their team record shows six points in the first quarter; three points in the second quarter; zero in the third; and 10 baskets in the final period.
On the other hand, KHS Lady Ayuyus got its boost during the third quarter when Hofschneider fired 16 shots that almost went unopposed by Lady Rays.
Though KHS scored only four points during the entire fourth period, Hofschneider’s contributions in previous quarters were enough to bring Lady Ayuyus to their first win the JV Girls’ basketball season opener last week.
