HOOPAHOLICS 670 trounced the OG Aces, 68-51, to bag their first win in the Masters “Internal” Basketball League at the Ada gym on Saturday.

The Hoopaholics came prepared with nearly a full roster while the OG Aces only had five players at the start of the game.

The Hoopaholics’ Ponce Rasa, Jacob Villagomez, Walter Mendez and Junior Renguul put up a bucket each to seize the lead.

But the OG Aces fought back, thanks to Ray Deleon Guerrero who delivered 10 points. Unfortunately, a one-man army was no match against a battalion as Renguul and Henry Sablan took over the remainder of the opening quarter to push a double-digit spread, 20-10.

In the second half, three more of its players showed up, which boosted the OG Aces’ morale.  Mike Surima made his presence known within the perimeter as he drew a couple of fouls to sink in three points from the charity line while John Joyner and Rudy Borja chipped in two points each to cut the Hoopaholics’s lead,  25-30.

Both teams continued to put on a show in the third period with the Hoopaholics maintaining a four-point lead.

In the fourth and final quarter, fatigue started to affect the OG Aces as their offensive production  slowed down. The Hoopaholics, for their part, continued to apply pressure with James Villacrusis leading his team with eight points while teammates Sablan and Jacob Villagomez notched four and six points, respectively, to add icing to the cake as they defeated the OG Aces, 68-51.
