The Voyagers were outsmarted by their sister team the IT&E Incredibles at the Buddies Bar and Grill last Tuesday, 4-3.
The Incredibles were able to freeze the scores against the Voyagers at two points all at the bottom of the 8-ball singles round. The Incredibles preceded the Voyagers the entire night and were not about to buckle to their domineering sister team.
It was a swift snatch for the Incredibles in the last twenty minutes of the game. Incredibles’ Mark Estrada and Mark Butac both edged past Rey Pinagnay and Jojo Talibong in games one and two of the last Singles 8-Ball round to hand the Voyagers an early surprising upset.
Both Estrada and Butac schooled Pinagnay and Talibong three balls behind in both games one and two sinking the black 8-ball in via corner pocket shots to secure the win under their belts. Although the Voyagers redeemed themselves during the final 8-ball doubles round they were still one point shy of the victory, 4-3.
The Voyagers are pulling in a whopping 48 win 22 loss record cutting their winning average to 68.6 percent.
It was clash of the titans as team Jonny’s Home Boyz was pegged up against Utopia’s Docomo Hustlers in their home arena at the Jonny’s Bar and Grill with the Home Boyz running away with the victory by a hairline, 4-3.
The former is still in second place trailing behind the Voyagers with 46 wins and 4 losses, 65.7 percent winning average. The latter is suffered yet another upset and is situated in third place with 44 wins and 26 losses, 62.9 percent winning average.
In the Obyan division D’Pirates Best Choice still shines in first place with 36 wins and 34 losses after defeating team USSP Turtles with a perfect off-the table sweep of 7-0.
Sister team USSP Fotten Palaus seat themselves in second place comfortably with 31 wins and 39 losses, 51.4 percent winning average followed by VFW’s X-Tream with 30 wins and 40 losses a 42.9 winning average.
In the Agingan division, current season most 8-ball on break contender is Mario Diola and Jojo Talibong with one point each while Agingan division’s current season most run the rack contender is Chester Hamoy with five points.
In the Obyan Division current season most 8-ball on break contender is Nong Detdon and George Lizardo with one point each as well and the Obyan Division’s current season most run the rack contender is Tero Takai, John Mongami, Joey Agulto, Arnel Orbita, Patrick Cepeda, Chester Cuento, Bobby Lozano, and Sam Babauta with one point each.
