India backs out, contingents here next for Asia-Pacific baseball tournament

The tournament, according to James Ada, district administrator and member of international board of director, will start on June 27 and will conclude on July 3.

Teams in each division will play each other in round robin the teams that will get the best team record will face in the championship.

India’s Little League All Stars, Ada said e-mailed the organizers a few days ago saying they are pulling out of the competition because came late for reservation and they find the travel and accommodation cost too high.

The teams from Jakarta, Indonesia will be arriving early in the morning on June 25, the Guam All Stars in the night of June 26, Philippines will here in the afternoon of June 25 and Hongkong at 8 a.m., of June 28.

In junior division, James Ada and district tournament director, Mike Borja said NMI, Guam, Indonesia, Philippines and Hongkong will compete.

In senior division and big little league, NMI will be facing Guam and the Philippines.

Meanwhile, the NMI majors division All Stars will compete in Hongkong from July 18 to July 24.

Hongkong will host the Little League All Stars, due an agreement between ESPN-Asia and Williams Sport headquarters in Pennsylvania.

The ESPN-Asia that partly owns the Disneyland in Hongkong had signed a contract with the Williams Sport to host the Asia Pacific Regional Baseball Tournament for Little League Majors division for five years.
