The Natibu sluggers who almost completed the regular season with lone loss to the Freedom Air Flyers would not have scored a run last Friday if not to Ned Norita’s three-run home run in the top of the fourth inning.
But that was it for them as the Island Rebels continued clobbering them with four more run-scoring base hits handing them their second loss.
Now, Natibu and the Island Rebels are approaching the Chamolinian Softball playoff with identical team standings.
Cepeda led off a single before BJ Babauta hit an RBI single to help the Island Rebels take the lead in the bottom of the first inning.
Mitch Aaron singled as well and Sanchez drove him ion with single.
Natibu still did not score a run in the top of the third, and Kaipat stretched the Island Rebels’ lead with a solo shot to cap a stronger bottom of the third.
Norita’s three-run home run for Natibu cut the lead in the top of the fourth but Cepeda and Jeff Isaac put it back by rocketing a two-run homerun apiece in the bottom.
Cepeda and Babauta singled and Kaipat drove in a run on a fielder’s choice for a 10-run mercy rule win, ending Natibu’s chance to come back.
Berdax 16, Team Familia 8
Frank Robert and Bill Camacho drove in two runs with their respective single as Berdax streaked in the top of the third inning to beat Team Familia.
Shine Tenorio went 3-fo-4 and scored two runs for Berdax.
Ton Magofna and Asap Ogumoro hit an RBI single apiece during Berdax rampage in the third.
Ogumoro fired a two-run single and Franco Flores drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning.
Blazers 15, Red Eye 5
The Blazers’ defenders held Red Eye scoreless in two straight innings before going to scoring surge leading to their 15-5 victory.
Joe Lifoifoi and Rodney Lifoifoi drove in runs with singles to put up the lead in the bottom of the second inning.
With Nacio Camacho hitting an RBI single, Red Eye trimmed down the Blazers lead to one run in the top of the third.
Rodney and Jess Taitano fired run-scoring single apiece to widen the lead again in the bottom of the fourth, then, the Blazers never looked as Ray Bosil added an RBI single to secure their win.
Hitz 9, San Roque 8
Down only by one run, Jun Kaipat launched a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning to help the Hitz beat San Roque, 9-8.
Chad Atalig hit a grand slam to establish San Roque’s lead in the top of the first inning.
Frank Ilo helped the Hitz trim it down to one with a two-run double in the bottom of the first, then, the Hitz fielders held San Roque runless in two straight innings.
Larry Roberts strengthened San Roque again with an RBI single in the fourth, but Mario Fitial cut it in an RBI single.
San Roque cruised to three-lead towards the seventh with Dave Camacho Jr., and Manny Tenorio driving in with a sacrifice fly.
Benedict Saures and Manny Cabrera singled, Fitial walked and Cris George drove in a run with a sacrifice fly before Jun Kaipat drove in the winning run with a two RBI single.
