It’s Philippines vs CNMI in Asia-Pacific championship

This came after both CNMI and Philippines Little League All Stars teams lead the standing following victories over Guam, Indonesia and Hongkong.

In Junior League, the Philippine All Stars rallied for their four-game winning streak as they defeated CNMI yesterday in 10-run mercy rule, 15-5.

CNMI’s Ricardo Dela Cruz missed the strike zones repeatedly and Michael Peter Tenorio walked four batters.

Philippines’ Jose Miguel San Juan led off for a single in the first and singled again in the fifth inning. He hit an RBI allowing Toshimasa Brando to score a run.

San Juan was also the starting pitcher as he shut CNMI out up to the 1-2.5 inning before Charles Jason Catangui to his turn to shut out CNMI from third to fourth inning.

Vincent Ching doubled in the first and Catangui tripled and hit two RBIs sending San Juan and Ching home to score the winning runs.

Miko Habana on first at-bat doubled and hit two drove in San Juan and Ching to score in two RBIs.

The closest score that CNMI was able to come was 5-2.

In yesterdays’ game, CNMI rallied for series victories in all the Leagues to reach the championship.

CNMI Junior All Stars with 3-0 standing will meet Philippines (4-0) this morning.

CNMI and the Philippines both in 1-1 standing will meet in the next game.

CNMI’s top pitcher Jesus Iguel and the Philippines’ Jerome Bacarisas will encounter again in what most fans expect to be more exciting game than two days ago.
