Murota, according to Takahiro Omori, assistant general manager of Coral Ocean Point Resort Club held the one-day clinic as part of the resort’s celebration of its 20th anniversary.
COP Resort Club located at southern tip of Saipan has an 18-hole golf course designed by three-time champion and Hall of Famer Larry Nelson.
Nelson is also arriving on June 19 to play with local golfers, also part of COP anniversary celebration.
Murota who had visited Saipan more than 10 times played golf with 50 people on Thursday and 20 guests on Friday some of them tourists, some local golfers and some Japanese nationals who live on Saipan.
The participants, Omori said asked questions about the basics of golf, while some tried to learn from Murota some techniques in holding the drivers for fairway shots.
The guests who are obviously beginners asked Murota how to control the balls, the proper way to hold the club and which kind of situation in the tour each of the 13 club set are used.
Among those who had the chance to learn from Murota are Pacific Eagle Enterprise vice president Aya Matsumoto and Torihide Restaurant owner, Miyazawa Torihide.
The 55-year-old Japanese golfer won the Dunlop Phoenix Championship and the Taeheyo Visa Masters Tournament.
