Jones leads Starz to victory — again

The Aces snuck only two hits — one from Keoni Lizama at the top of the first, another from Mike Manas — before losing, 5-1.

Jones hit an RBI single at the top of the first to score the Starz’s first run, sending Tomas Camacho home. He followed with a run-scoring double two innings later, driving teammate Isaiah Lizama in.

The Ol’ Aces posted their only run on an error from Camacho.

The Starz pulled away with three more runs at the top of the sixth, thanks to David Jones’ run-scoring single, a bunt from right fielder Ben Lizama.

Aside from his excellent pitching performance, Joshua Jones went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one single, and one run.

Fielders 6, Falcons 5

The junior division’s IT&E Fielders went the extra inning to beat the Natibu Sports Association Tanapag Falcons, 6-5 on Sunday.

Center fielder Jack Espinoza reached the scoring position via balk and returned home on a wild pitch to save the Fielders at the top of the ninth inning. Ian Rogolifoi and Kainoa Wanket scored back-to-back runs on errors at the top of the fifth.

Rogolifoi struck an RBI single earlier, advancing Gayvon Uchau from the scoring position. Khobby and Cody Kaipat bagged one run apiece.

A late game surge from the Falcons tied the scores, 5-5 at the bottom of the seventh, thanks to runs from Gino Dela Cruz, AJ Evangelista, and JJ Lifoifoi. Starting pitcher Frankie Lieto hit a sacrifice fly earlier, driving Dela Cruz to home plate.

Cody Kaipat struck out seven before switching out with Wanket.
