After five grueling matches under scorching heat of the sun that started out on the morning of Saturday for all listed players, Jonathan Kaminsky and Francis Llecholech remained undefeated of their respective pools having a 5 – 0 win loss card to grab first place as both tennis specialists awaits next assignments. Kaminsky handled his opponents pretty well with his powerful serves and accurate backhand returns that placed him on top spot for Pool A, while Llecholech defeated series of assignments by outwitting and outplaying his challengers en route to become number one on Pool B.
Other players and their win – loss card are as follows; Pool A: Noel Reyes, Francis Matsutaro, phenomenal player at 12 Kaito Fuji are locked at 3 – 2 standings while Akiko Takashima got 1 – 4 and Jhun Tan still needs to find his ryhtm to get a win at 0 – 5. On the other Pool, Pool B: Ben Ramos stays second place with a 4 – 1 card, Masayuki Takashima 2-3, Abigail Gbewonyo 2-3, Arnold Villegas and Darin Deleon tied 1 – 4.As a result of players standings, the top two finishers from each pool have advanced to the semifinals, to be held Monday at 6 pm at PPR, weather permitting. Francis Llecholech will play Noel Reyes, while Jonathan Kaminsky will match up against Ben Ramos.The winner of the matches goes head to head on the finals which will be held on Tuesday at 6 pm on the same venue.The Palau Tennis Federation’s Singles Tournament are all part of the 25th Anniversary celebration of the Palau Pacific Resort.
