KANOA and Latte football clubs notched victories in the opening games on Sunday to lead Division A of the NMI Football Association’s Dove Women’s League at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
Kanoa FC’s Aubrey Paige White, Kaithlyn Chavez and Ye Lynn Ha scored two goals each in the game against Paire FC. Ayessa Tereyama and Audrey Castro, also of Kanoa, made the first two goals early in the game as their team silenced Paire, 8-0.
Latte FC defeated MP United, 3-1, with Khristelle Lysa Itaas scoring two goals and Maria Fathangin chipping in one.
MP United Pink held Shirley’s FC to a scoreless draw with strong defensive plays from Megan Mae Elayda, Christina Atalig, Jhaneeka Atalig, Moriah Sablan and Breanna Lee.
In Division B, Kanoa FC blanked Shirley’s FC, 3-0 with Lynnae Cabrera scoring two goals and Rox Soriano adding one.
Shirley’s FC1 trounced Latte FC, 8-0, late in the afternoon with Ciaralyn Apostol, Elaine Enriquez, Catalina Dela Cruz and Subin Ho contributing two goals each.
Paire FC outlasted Matansa FC1, 2-1, with Jo and Manny scoring two goals each. Angelina Philips delivered one goal for Matansa.
MP United FC Pink took the win over Matansa FC2 due to a forfeit.
