KAGMAN High School added its very first win to the books in the girls high school division of the PSS-NMIVA Interscholastic Volleyball League SY25-26 on Tuesday, slipping past Saipan International School in a three-set battle at the Marianas High School gym.
KHS’s roster demonstrated a strong collective effort, with key contributions from Nevaen Camacho, Marlaina Benjamin, Patience Borja, Ry’aeko Quitano, Ry’ahna Quitano, Carmen Wenio, Wylynn Pua, Maya Jung, and Mary Amog. Their consistent and coordinated play proved too much for SIS, as KHS claimed the opening set, 21-15.
In the second set, KHS established an early lead and maintained control during the initial exchanges. However, SIS’ offense, characterized by powerful serves and well-placed returns, began to put pressure on KHS’ defense. SIS ultimately captured the second set, 21-14, forcing a decisive third set.
SIS’ rally was short-lived, however, as they struggled to keep up with KHS’ aggressive play. KHS dominated the final set, winning 15-6 to secure the match.
In other games, Mount Carmel School II defeated SIS II, 21-13, 21-14, while Marianas High School II took down KHS II, 21-16, 21-10.
