Shuji Kuroda made his way through the water with a time of 19:47, putting him well ahead of everyone else in the men’s category. His steady pace on the 2.5km sections on the pathway run allowed him to clock at 44:00 to secure first place.
For her part, Sarah Vander Wal crossed the finish line second overall to top the women’s category. She completed the swimming portion with a time of 18:29 and then the 2.5km runs to cross the finish line at 43:49.
In the mixed category, the Saipan International School Geckos — Tiana Cabrera, Jinju Thompson and Kuu Nishimura — were dominant and finished first overall. In the swimming portion, they reached the shore at 14:13 and completed the running section with a time of 38:59 to bag the first-place trophy with ease.
Finishing second in the men’s category was Taiyo Akimaru who completed the swimming portion with a time of 18:21 leading to a finish time of 47:04. Jacoby Winkfield came in at third place with a swim time of 20:12, finishing at 47:07.
In the women’s category, Savita Sikkel was second with a swim time of 20:29, clocking in at 46:32 while Claire Devey settled for third place with a swim time of 22:58 and a finish time of 49:33.
