La Hunn Lam finishes 21st in NZ U14 tennis championship

LA Hunn Lam of the NMI  competed in the Tennis New Zealand U14 Junior Championships and finished 21st overall.

In round 1, Lam went up against Paxton Maling, who won the first set, 6-1. In the second set, Lam adjusted accordingly and stayed toe-to-toe, but Maling still came out on top, 7-5, to advance to the next round.

Lam then worked his way back up by beating Nicholas Rayner, 6-3, 6-2, but he lost his next match against Max Flanagan, 6-2, 6-4.

Lam then performed flawlessly against Cullen Mccashin, 6-3, 6-0, before trouncing Eddie Bassett, 6-1, 6-2, to finish 21st overall.

Lam also saw action in the U14 boys doubles event with Matthew Saint.

The duo triumphed in their opening match against Austen Keni and Jacques Rupe, 6-0, 6-4, but were eliminated by Luca Bland and Damien M-Budiono, 4-6, 3-6.
