THE Lady Starz dominated the women’s division of the 4 Starz Marianas Club 2nd Annual Fall Fest Volleyball Tournament 2025, defeating the SIS Geckos in two straight sets at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium on Friday night.
The Lady Starz, featuring a roster that includes Aiko Rasiang, Vera Hapdei and Azriel Fatialofa, started strong with a series of bumps, sets, and spikes to establish an early lead.
The SIS Geckos fought back with sheer grit, led by Keylie Claveria, Hoo Wang, Layla Beagle, and Addalee Taflinger at the frontline, responding with digs and possession-saving dives to stay close. Despite their efforts, errors continued to haunt them, allowing the Lady Starz to take the first set, 25-18.
In the second set, the Lady Starz fueled their momentum with contributions from the rest of the team. Jen Sav, Jasmine John, and Erica Zandueta joined the fray with strong spikes and tip-ins, catching their opponents off guard with each attempt. The SIS Geckos continued to score points but ultimately fell 25-8 in the second set, giving Lady Starz a decisive victory.
Coed division highlights
In coed action, Angry Penne w/ Sausage cruised past DFEMS in straight sets.
Angry Penne w/ Sausage’s aggressive offense dominated the first set, 25-8, and continued their momentum with a 25-19 victory in the second. DFEMS fought hard but couldn’t overcome Angry Penne w/ Sausage’s precision.
