LARRY Deleon Guerrero won the Saipan Golf Association’s July Ace of the Month title on Aug. 27 at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort east course.
Deleon Guerrero played with confidence, shooting 45 on the front and back nines for a total gross of 90. With a handicap of 20, he finished first with a net score of 70.
In second place was Ed Manibusan, who bested Joe Demapan in a scorecard playoff.
Manibusan shot a gross of 40 on the front nine and 43 on the back for a total gross of 83. With a handicap of 8, his net score was 75.
Demapan shot a gross of 50 on the front nine and 47 on the back for a gross total of 97. But his handicap was 22, which gave him a net score of 75.
In the optional play, the closest to the pin winners were Joe I. Sablan on hole #6 and Deleon Guerrero on hole #11.
For the longest drive, Tony Reyes led the list on hole #2 while Manibusan ruled hole #18.
The SGA’s other 2023 Aces of the Month are Ray Salas (January), Das Krishnan (February), Joe I. Sablan (March), Rick Kautz (April), Nick Sablan (May), and Tony Reyes (June).
The SGA 2023 August Ace of the Month Tournament is scheduled for Sept. 10 at Coral Ocean Point. Show time is 8:30 a.m. while tee time is 9 a.m.
As for the September Ace of the Month event, it is scheduled for Sept. 24, with the venue to be announced soon.
