DESPITE rain throughout most of Sunday, Saipan Little League Inc.’s  “Girls with Game” Fastpitch Softball League managed to complete one game, with the Diamond Divas securing a decisive 9–4 victory over the Native Nenis at the Miguel “Tan Ge” Pangelinan ballfield.

The game opened with the Native Nenis setting the pace. After the first batter struck out, the next two reached first and second base to create a scoring opportunity. Raylin Deleon Guerrero capitalized with a two-RBI hit, and another run later crossed the plate before the Diamond Divas could halt the rally, giving the Native Nenis a 3–0 lead.

Despite the early deficit, the Diamond Divas answered with a flurry of hits in the bottom of the first inning. Lou Lou Sablan, Malenna Pangelinan, Hannah Castro, and Ava Asaivao applied steady pressure on the basepaths as the team recorded nine consecutive hits. Seven runs crossed the plate before the Native Nenis finally recorded three straight outs, allowing the Diamond Divas to take a 7–3 lead.

Native Nenis’ Maxiann Sablan and Emily Watson attempted to reignite their team’s momentum with additional hits in the top of the second inning, but the rally was limited to just one run. The Diamond Divas responded in the bottom half with two more runs to extend their advantage to 9–4.

Both teams showcased defensive versatility throughout the third inning, with neither side allowing a run.

Trailing in the top of the fourth inning, the Native Nenis had one final opportunity to mount a comeback. However, they were retired in order, allowing the Diamond Divas to secure the victory without needing to bat in the bottom half.
