THE Matansa Football Club was crowned the B Division champion of the Dove Women’s League Fall 2025 on Sunday, ending the season with a total of 18 points after outlasting the Latte Football Club 2, 2-1, at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

In their final match, Matansa and Latte 2 aimed to finish the season strong, with most of the action taking place early in the opening half.

The first 15 minutes saw an endless exchange of possession between the two teams, along with several attempts from various ranges. However, amid the action, LFC 2 gradually gained control with well-placed passes that created a scoring opportunity for Jaeleen Aldan, who found the back of the net in the 10th minute for a 1-0 lead.

LFC 2’s time in the spotlight was short-lived as MFC quickly recovered by tightening their defense. With each successful stop, the team built enough momentum to strike back, led by Chrishia Leon Guerrero, who capitalized with a ground shot into the corner to even the score just two minutes later, 1-1.

The action intensified as both teams continued to battle for control. But as the match progressed, MFC’s defensive coverage gave them a slight advantage by cutting off passing lanes and turning interceptions into transition plays. Their aggression paid off in the 36th minute, when Leon Guerrero scored her second goal to give Matansa the lead, 2-1.

Although LFC 2 had time to mount a comeback, they failed to gather enough momentum in the second half and ultimately fell to MFC.

MFC’s victory solidified their place at the top of the leaderboard with 18 points and secured them the B Division championship.

MPU vs LFC 1

In another exciting match, MP United Football Club outscored Latte FC 1, 5-3. Despite the loss, Latte FC 1 still finished in second place, while MPU took third, both teams tied with 16 points.

Joining MFC on the podium were the individual awardees.

Amy Cabrera of MP United FC and Chrishia Leon Guerrero of Matansa FC shared the Golden Boot Award, each scoring 11 goals during the season. Chelsea Leskosek of Matansa FC earned the Golden Glove Award, while Robin Romero of Paire FC received the Fair Play Award.
