(NMC) — Northern Marianas College recently hosted its 5th Annual International Day of University Sports or IDUS on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Oleai Track, bringing together students, athletes, and community members for a morning of friendly competition and wellness activities.
The event featured a variety of sports, including volleyball, soccer, ultimate frisbee, athletics, basketball, and spikeball. Participants competed in a fun and supportive environment while promoting physical activity and community spirit.
Adding a health component to the celebration, the NMC Nursing Club offered free blood pressure and glucose checks throughout the day. The event also included more than $1,000 worth of sporting prizes made possible through funding from FISU (International University Sports Federation) Oceania, with the grand prize being a stand-up paddle board.
This year’s IDUS was made possible through the support of numerous partners and campus groups, including the NMC Volleyball Club, Northern Mariana Islands Football Association, Ultimate Frisbee Saipan, Northern Marianas Athletics, Northern Marianas Basketball Intercollegiate Association, Northern Marianas Sports Association, FISU Oceania, the NMC Nursing Club, the NMC IT and Student Success teams, and volunteers from the NMC kinesiology program.
NMC invites the community to mark their calendars for next year’s IDUS celebration on Sept. 20, 2026, promising another day filled with sport, wellness, and camaraderie.
