PSS season hits final stretch with busy week ahead

THE PSS Interscholastic Sports Program will begin the final leg of its elementary, middle, and high school leagues this week across various venues.

The week began on Tuesday with the PSS/NMA All School Athletics SY25-26 kicking off its elementary division qualifiers (12U, 9U) at the Oleai Sports Complex, where schools are vying for top spots in the 60m, 200m, 800m, and long jump events.

Today, Wednesday, the middle and high school divisions will compete in the 200m, 800m, 3000m, shot put, and discus events.

Elementary competitions are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, while middle and high school events will take place on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Also set for Wednesdays and Fridays are the girls middle school division games of the PSS-NMIBF Interscholastic Basketball League SY25-26. Francisco M. Sablan Middle School will face Hopwood Middle School JV, while Chacha Ocean View Middle School will take on Tanapag Middle School in the opening games at 4:45 p.m. A second set of games follows at 5:30 p.m., featuring Dandan Middle School against Mount Carmel School.

Joining the week’s opening schedule is the co-ed elementary division and girls high school division of the PSS-NMISA Interscholastic Fastpitch Softball League SY25-26.

The co-ed elementary division will kick off Wednesday with a matchup between Garapan Elementary School and Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School at 3:15 p.m., followed by Koblerville Elementary School against Oleai Elementary School at 4:30 p.m. at the Dandan ball field.

The girls high school division will open Saturday, with Kagman High School facing Saipan Southern High School at 9 a.m., followed by Kagman High School taking on Marianas High School at 10:30 a.m., also at the Dandan ball field.

On Thursday, the boys middle school division of the PSS-NMIFA Interscholastic Soccer League SY25-26 will begin with matches between Hopwood Middle School and Dandan Middle School, and Saipan International School and Tanapag Middle School at 4:45 p.m. A third match between Chacha Ocean View Middle School and Francisco M. Sablan Middle School is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.

Also on Thursday are the opening games of the boys high school division of the PSS-NMIVA Interscholastic Volleyball League SY25-26. Junior varsity matches will begin at 4:45 p.m., featuring Marianas High School JV versus Agape Christian School JV, and Kagman High School JV against Saipan Southern High School JV. Varsity matches will follow at 5:30 p.m., with Kagman High School taking on Grace Christian Academy and Saipan Southern High School facing Agape Christian School.
