LONGSHOT came out victorious after pulling a second-half rally against Lamesa Kusina, 83-68, in season 2 of the 2024 Legends Sports Association Invitational Basketball League at the TSL Sports Complex on Thursday.

During the first half, it was Lamesa Kusina that dealt the cards. Their team chemistry shined early with Leo Apelo and Jun Hernandez lighting up the scoreboard and gaining the distance. Although Longshot fought back, their miscommunication and turnovers kept them at bay while Lamesa Kusina continued to thrive with points coming off the bench from Bryan Lontoc and Apelo to lead by double-digits, 41-27.

But it was a different story in the second half as Longshot gradually worked their way back within reach. Sean Apasan and Ervin Malonzo relentlessly attacked the rim, drawing a handful of fouls along the way while James Kintz added range with a couple of three-pointers to cut the lead, 58-63, with five minutes left on the clock.

Joining the winner’s circle was Choju, which converted 11 triples to slip past Savemore, 67-64.
