Manacop clinches Masters’ slot in inter-city bowling championships

Manacop, a three-time holder of Budweiser King of the Lane title on Saipan teamed up with Percy Omechelang, Kitz Barja and Alex Castro in the men’s division.

Starting with 203 pin falls in Game 1, Manacop rallied to top in Game 6 eking out 279 pin falls.

He tallied a total 1,328 pin falls and had an average of 221.33 in 18 games of men’s single that was dominated by Daegu’s Choi Suk Byung who had a total 4,326 pin falls.

In over-all however, Guam’s John John Ada beat Manacop by 15 pin falls to settle for the 11th place. Ada had 3,958 pin falls while Manacop invested 3, 935 or an average of 218.61 in 18 games.

Three other Daegu bowlers made it to the Top 4 in the All-Events.   The second placer was Kim Young Pyo who had a total of 4,279 pin falls; Shin Sung Hoon came third with a total of 4156; and Bae Su Wook finished fourth with 4,094 pin falls.

Brian Manibusan of Guam came fifth with a total of 4,092 pin falls.

Raymond Angeles also of Saipan, placed 21st earning a total of 3,723 pin falls; Raymond Zapanta was in No. 27 finishing with 3,652 pin falls; Kitz Barja 42nd with 3,418 and Saipan’s multi-monthly title winner, Raphael Zapanta 5th with 3,163 pin falls.

In the men’s doubles, Manacop and and Kitz Barja placed seventh tallying a combined 2,619 pin falls.

In men’s team, Raphael Zapanta, Raymond Angeles, Jared Gutierrez and Raymond Zapanta placed 10th with a total of 4,624. Among them, Raymond Zapanta was leading striker with 1,283.

In over-all medal counts, Daegu bowlers won 33 including four golds; Pohang had 23 including three golds; Tamuning 13, one of which is gold; Paranaque had 11; Shal Alam four; Hongkong three and Pasay one medal.
