MARK Espeleta finished second in the Men’s Physique Class A division of the 2023 NPC Guam Bodybuilding Championships on Saturday night at the Royal Laguna Guam Resort.

The NMI-born Espeleta went up against seven other bodybuilders. Dannie Baisa topped the event.

Espeleta, a 32-year-old U.S Army Reservist, has been into bodybuilding for the past eight years now.

“Bodybuilding has been my passion and my stress reliever,” he said. Winning a prize in a competition, he added, “makes me feel good and addicted to the results.”

Espeleta prepared for the competition for the past six months under Joel Tudela, part-owner of Health City Guam.

Espeleta said he is more than satisfied with his results. “I felt great. I felt like I won first place in my class, but that only ignites the spark to work harder,” he added.

“I would also like to recognize my family, my kids, my wife, and my parents most especially,” he said.
