MARPAC remains unscathed in the 2023 R&J Wine and Liquor Inter-Government/Business League after dismantling Priority Care, 107-71, Saturday at the Ada gym.
Marpac and Priority Care went on a seesaw battle in the opening quarter. Marpac’s Coby Santos kept the offensive rhythm flowing thanks to his ability to finish at the rim. For their part, Priority Care led by Matt Duenas and Steve King drew a handful of fouls to pick points from the free throw line and trail by two, 21-23.
In second quarter, Marpac started to establish control by shutting down King, which forced Duenas to take over the helm for Priority Care.
But his firepower wasn’t enough, allowing Marpac’s John Babauta and Greg Sablan to took over the spotlight and seize a double-digit lead, 50-33.
Priority Care tried to regain momentum in the second half, but only Duenas and King showed consistency, which was outmatched by Marpac’s offensive options. Frank Mattao, Santos, Castro, and Babauta stood at the frontline to eventually secure Marpac’s blowout victory, 107-71.
