With their good-natured smiles and down to earth personalities, Diana Jean and Marilynn breezed through the photo shoot as local beauties who have a knack for adventure.
This Memorial weekend, Diana Jean and Marilynn will be at Gorilla Warfare MMA’s Into the Jungle, presented by Budlight, IT&E and Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino, for the first amateur bout to be held on Tinian in a long time.
Tickets now on sale at Boarderline and Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino for $20 advance and $25 at the door per person for general seating and $30 for VIP.
“I am so excited! I’m looking forward to meeting and working with new people,” said Diana, an 18 year-old high school senior at Kagman High School.
Marilynn, also a senior at Kagman High School, agrees, saying, “I am also looking forward to meeting new people and being more familiar with MMA.”
Diana dreams of becoming a nurse one day and to continue to pursue her career in modeling. She recently won the recent Marianas Bikini Open contest, which benefited a local non-profit group, Mariana Islands Nature Alliance.
“I believe our local girls have the ability and talent to become professional models and from what I observed is that local girls have tremendous potential to let their inner beauty shine,” smiled Castro.
Marilynn, who aims to own her own business one day and to be “role model of success,” is exploring her future options.
“I even want to try different things in life and gain more experience. Like MMA for example, it sounds tough, but I really wouldn’t mind trying it out for myself,” said Cruz.
“Being in the spot light with my friend Diana competing for the Marianas Bikini Open title was one of my unforgettable moments. I never thought I’d be 1st runner up. To me, the competition was for the fun of trying new things, it never really matters who wins or loses. I know we all won a great experience,” she said.
“We, as island girls, do have so much potential. I’m sure there are a lot of confident and outgoing girls here in the CNMI that set modeling as their goal,” she added.
As the official rings girls of Gorilla Warfare MMA, Diana Jean and Marilynn will be helping promote one of the world’s fastest growing sport and to have a little fun along the way as models.
Diana and Marilynn will be featuring the latest outfits from Boarderline, including the sporty Vans shoes, as well as customized wear from Konflikt MMA Clothing on Tinian for the official weigh-ins this Friday and the fight event on Saturday.
Special thanks to Star Marianas Air, Boarderline Surf & Skate Shop, Spot On Bar, The Set, Konflikt MMA Clothing, OTM Fight Shop, Infinixd Designs, the 17th Tinian Legislature Delegation and the Tinian Mayor’s Office.
