Trench Tech, Inc. president, Cuki Alvarez announced last Monday, that the mixed martial arts group has turned over major sponsorship and presenter rights to Miller Lite for the years 2009 and 2010.
Alvarez said Miller Lite’s sponsorship presents a fantastic opportunity for both Trench Tech, Inc. and the mixed martial arts in the CNMI, adding that “sports fans in the CNMI and throughout the region can look forward to an incredible season with the very best that MMA has to offer.”
The Miller Lite logo will now be on the prime position in the center of the Octagon when Rites of Passage VI—Conviction starts on Jan. 24 at the Saipan World Resort’s Taga Hall.
And to highlight the partnership with Miller Lite, Alvarez said they will make every fan a VIP to this historic event.
The fight card for the event he said was also stepped up to include four main events with fighters who earned rights to be in the ring for a long time.
“We are going to set the bar a lot higher from here on out,” Alvarez said.
Charles Cepeda, general manager of Miller Lite distributor, PTC said “a new heavyweight, Miller Lite, will enter the Trench Tech Octagon, and everyone will win.”
He added that they plan a few twists and surprises for the schedule that will thrill sports fans throughout the islands.
The Trench Warz other presenters are Docomo Pacific and Pacific Trading that will provide sub-sponsorship from Pepsi and Monster Energy.
“The sport appeals to the masses and adding these brands to the events gives Trench Tech Inc. a wider range of beverage tie-ins. Pepsi is the number one cola in the CNMI and Monster is a perfect fit for a high energy sport like MMA,” Cepeda added.
PTC sales manager, Glen Hunter for his part, thanked Alvarez for his efforts in maintaining mixed martial arts on the island.
MMA he said is one of the only truly professional spectator sports in the CNMI.
“As most people are already aware, Miller Lite is a huge supporter of MMA in the Pacific. Alvarez and his team are as passionate about the sport as we are, and through this partnership we can expect two years of spectacular performances and continued growth of mixed martial arts in the CNMI, and throughout the region,” he said.
The tickets for Rites of Passage VI will be available next week at Docomo Pacific, Pacific Trading Company, Borderline, The 6-7-Zero Rocksteady shop, Kagman Mobil and Hannam Market for a flat fee of $20.00.
