MISO currently utilizes the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field as the venue for its baseball games, with Marianas High School and Kagman High School’s first match scheduled today at 4:30 pm. Whether MISO can promptly start the season today is still uncertain, according to Gross. In the event of any last minute changes, Gross will notify all participating schools’ coaches regarding their games.
Overall, all games will be played within seven innings, and all games will be “official” after five innings. Make-up games will also be played the first Friday following the originally scheduled game.
In last week’s meeting between the MISO’s officials and school coaches, subjects relating to team uniforms, the tournament bracket, pitching, and rosters were discussed.
Uniforms for Mount Carmel School and Tinian High School are still pending, but both schools are still eligible to participate in their respective baseball games. THS will only be taking part in MISO’s double elimination tournament, which is set for November 5 and 6. All teams may dress up to 15 players per game, with November 2 scheduled as the last day to submit the team’s tournament roster. If no roster is submitted, the roster from the last season game will be used.
In addition, Gross also stated that the all MISO-sanctioned events are considered under ‘school sanction activities.’ Players caught with items such as betel nut and tobacco will be immediately removed from the game.
