Mobil, PROA nail wins in UBA caging

From the start of the game until its eulogy, team Mobil grabbed the driver’s seat of the game after Jhun Estolas ignited their winning rally. The game started rather quickly for team Mobil. Estolas nailed 8 points on his own during the first quarter, two shots of which where three pointer shots.

Team Mobil was able to edge past the taller Fundamentalists by four points at the bottom of the quarter.  It was no different story as Estolas carried team Mobil through the game with the lead safely in their hands.

The second quarter rolled in and Mobil’s Ron Gamboa jumped into the band wagon to assist Estolas in his endeavor to keep the lead in their possession. Gamboa garnered 8 points during the second quarter and letting Estolas seal the quarter shut with a jump shot.

By half time the scores were up, 41-28 in major favor of team Mobil. Both teams entered the court after a ten minute break ready to play some ball.

The Fundamentalists tried to close the gap during the third quarter. But the damage done during the first half of the game was too serious to fix.

Team Mobil moved on to hand the Fundamentalists the upset of the game with a sheer record score of 65-52.

IN the second game of the night, NMC PROA steadily rallied past the Ol Aces keeping their perfect record intact. So far in the entire league, only NMC PROA possess a perfect record and are sure to march to the finals of the Docomo/UBA Men’s Basketball tournament brigaded by Coach Rufino Aguon.

The dynamic duo was seen on the court once again throughout the whole night. Jack Lizama and Pete Iguel were inseparable and so were there point tallies at the end of the game. Iguel and Lizama each garnered a total of 19 points each to lead the PROAs in yet another victorious rally.

The Ol Aces managed to stay afloat during the first encounter with the PROAS allowing them to tie the score at 14 points all.

But it was an entire different story during the second encounter for the Ol Aces. PROA’s Peter Mendiola snatched 9 points for the team. Jack Lizama and Gino Libuw grabbed a piece of the action as well after each player nailed 4 points a head.

This gave lee-way for the PROAs to shoot forward and snatch the lead of the game igniting their winning rally in the quarters to come, 35-29.

After a ten minute intercession both teams entered the second half of the bout with renewed strength. It was all over for the Ol Aces with the start of the new slates. Lizama and Iguel worked hand in hand compatibly and each collected 6 points to deposit the PROA’s side of the scoreboard.

Teammate Mike Babauta did not his opportunity slide away either. Babauta contributed his four pence to the team stretching the shaky gap in the first half to a more secure 18 points stance, 57-39.

The fourth quarter rolled in and the PROAs, at the advice of Coach Rufino Aguon, played their defense tactics perfectly to keep the Rollers at bay.

Not once did they let their guard down against the Ol Aces who breached past the barriers a couple of times to nail a couple of jump shots and lay ups.

In the end the PROAs served the Ol Aces with yet another unsuccessful game, 74-57.
