The final scores were 115-67, moving Exxon Mobil up the ranks against their next opponents.
Rabauliman’s impressive display of quick footwork and accurate lay-ups had Trinity players on the run for the ball in the beginning. He led the individual scores with 27 points, assisting Jhun Estolas with quick rebounds in the first quarter.
Trinity’s Rocyl Ritual rushed in with his team mates for the offensive and was able to throw in three consecutive shots, one of which was behind the three point line. This followed a free throw from Roy Hernandez after being fouled moments earlier.
While Rabauliman charged for the basket, Elmer Esdrelon waited along the side lines, hammering in five three-pointers.
By the fourth quarter, members from team Trinity focused a little more on the defense, but were found only to be cornered by Bruce Berline when the ball happened to come their way. Some passes from Trinity were easily deflected and caused a turn over, giving Mobil easy points.
Nationals 51, Mc Graw Hill 28
Despite the rain that nearly cancelled the game, the Nationals came out with another victory over McGraw Hill with 51-28.
Both teams started a little slow, scoring only 10-6 after the first quarter. Hill focused on the defensive, distributing the ball equally amongst their fellow team mates when the chance came up. Numerous turnovers hit Hill allowing National’s Pete Mendiola to make three baskets before the buzzer continued on to the second quarter.
By the middle of the second quarter, a bad pass to Flav cost McGraw Hill a point, giving the Nationals a momentum.
Dan Barcinas and Quincy Johnson took advantage of this opportunity, banking a few jump shots and a lay-up. Shortly before the buzzer ended the first half of the game, Joe Villacrusis was fouled following his two-pointer, giving the Nationals an extra point.
Pete Iguel was able to come through for the Nationals before the end of the third quarter, as he raised their score to 35 along with Keori Chariton and James Lee.
With two seconds left in the fourth quarter, Jose Tumaquip quickly tossed the ball to opposing player McDuff, knowing in advance that he would not have the time to score a point nor catch up in the scores.
