Moonlight zooms past Koi’s, 69-67

Down by three points at the end of the first quarter, Moonlight caught up in the second period when Umali sank a pair of two-pointers, then Villegas fired six of his total points including a blast from outside the three-point arc.

Juan Camacho however, was also rampaging in this period hitting seven of his 18 points for the Koi’s but some kind of miscommunication gave them away with a few minutes left in the first half of the game.

Bernard Montano who briefly delivered in the first half picked up with Moreno and Villegas left off and Moonlight went on to defend the lead towards the end of the third quarter.

Koi’s carried out a smothering defense in the beginning of the fourth quarter to take the lead. However, bad aims gripped their offense later on, with triggermen missing shots a number of times.

A passing error turned the court around and Moonlight kept the lead all the way to the ball game.

Villegas finished with 17 points while Umali and Moreno chipped in 13 and 12 points respectively.

Pacific 85, Grillin 75

Rolly Paraiso tallied 20 points as he led Pacific regain the lead in the fourth quarter, then, Nordson Ambalan joined him in beating Grillin, 85-75.

With Louigi Iglesias sizzling with 10 points including two three-point shots in the first quarter, Pacific led the game with eight points.

Grillin’s Lerio Pagarao scattered 10 of his 30 points to cut the lead down to four points at the end of the first half.

He kept the adrenaline surge in the third quarter and Ramir Herrera contributed eight points to bring Grillin back on its feet for the final period.

Francisco Serrano poured consecutive shots for a six-point feat and Paraiso added seven points and Grillin took the lead back and held on to it to win the ball game.
