MP United Football Club Pink won the B Division championship of the Dove Women’s League Spring 2025 by outplaying MP United Football Club Blue, 8-3, at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Sunday.
The difference in confidence between Pink and Blue was evident as soon as the ball dropped, with Pink hungry to control possession.
After three minutes of play, Pink’s Riza Lim scored her team’s first goal to take the lead. Pink continued the forward pressure with Lim at the frontline, as she completed a hat-trick with two more goals in the 5th and 7th minutes, while teammate Amy Cabrera added her first goal in the 9th minute to widen the lead to 4-0.
Despite the rough start, Blue kept their heads up and gradually turned the tide with Kimberly Palacios breaking the silence in the 14th minute.
But this was quickly overshadowed by another barrage of goals from Pink, led by Cabrera, who scored in the 24th and 26th minutes. Lim then added her fourth goal, followed by Jenisha Dubrall notching Pink’s eighth in the 28th minute to secure a comfortable 8-1 lead.
Blue tried to close the gap, with Palacios sinking her second goal in the 39th minute and Zoe Macaranas adding a third in the 44th minute of the second half. However, Blue fell silent for the remainder of the match and ultimately conceded defeat to Pink, 8-3.
MPU Pink secured the championship with a record of 8 wins, 1 draw, and no losses.
Matansa Football Club 2 clinched second place by shutting down Paire Football Club, 4-0, to end the season with a record of 6 wins, 3 draws, and no losses.
