Aimed at advancing post secondary education in the CNMI, the tournament is held annually to help the foundation support NMC’s educational programs and services.
NMC Foundation is a non-profit organization composed of community volunteers committed to elevating higher educational opportunities for CNMI students.
“Over the years, the NMC Foundation Open has built a loyal following of golfers who are dedicated to helping the College,” NMC Foundation President Ben Babauta said.
“We are extremely thankful for their continued support and look forward to seeing them on the golf course in June,” he added.
“We’re also encouraging golfers who have not played in the Foundation Open before to join us this year,” Babauta added. “All funds raised will help our students meet their educational goals, so it’s win-win situation for everyone.”
With a shotgun start at 7:00 a.m., the tournament is a medal play format and a special double peoria on all mens’ flight. In addition to first, second, and third place prizes for the flights, the tournament will include Hole-in-One prizes. The lucky golfer who makes a hole-in-one shot at the designated sites will win considerable prizes donated by the tournament’s sponsors.
The entrance fee for the tournament is only $85 per player. Interested players are invited to bring their family, friends and playing partners for a fantastic day of fun and fundraising for a good cause.
The NMC Foundation is also asking companies or individuals who can contribute monetary or in-kind donations to sponsor the tournament. A special sponsors cocktail party on June 12th at the Chambre Club at Fiesta Resort.
