Team manager, Eliseo M. Castro said 32 children will be leaving on July 18 to compete on July 19 to 20.
On Tuesday Wednesday week, Castro and the coaching team helped 11 children age five to eight; 12 boys age nine and 10 and 11 boys age 11 and 12 to practice batting.
The kids five and eight years old will compete in Tee Ball; the nine and 10 in Babe Ruth and the 11 and 12 years old will compete in Little Majors League.
Castro said they will have no problem with Babe Ruth players because most of them were in the regular season of the 2008 Saipan Little League Baseball’s Majors division.
As for the small kids (age 5 to 8), they were helping them work on tee balls.
The NMI will be competing with three teams in Guam.
This is going to be just the second Tee Ball tournament, Castro said as the organizers succeeded in making this an annual sports event for the kids.
