NYBA to resume this week

The only things that the basketball court lacks, according Juan Ugarto are the four light bulbs which had to be taken off during the construction.

Ugarto said they initially scheduled the reopening of the basketball league on July 15, or as soon as all the light bulbs are installed.

The NYBA he said is grateful to the lawmakers, especially Rep. Edward Salas who, upon seeing the hazardous condition of the facility a few months ago, worked out to fund its renovation.

The NYBA tournament has already started earlier this year and was in eighth game schedule when a group of lawmakers noticed that some parts of the basketball particularly the fence are tearing part.

The Rep. Salas and Precinct 3 lawmakers requested the NYBA to defer the league to pave the way for the renovation of the basketball court.

Youth 16-and-under and 14-and-under from the villages in the northern side of the island are playing in the said caging.

In the 16-and-under division, the Garapan Rollers has 1-0 standing after winning the opening game against Garapan Stars. San Antonio Fixes also won after that and now have 1-0 standing as well.

The other teams for 16-and-under are Garapan Rollers II (0-2) Southern Sonics (1-0) Kontenders (0-2) and Kagman Suns (0-0).

In the 14-and-under, Sonics won three times with no lost, G-Rollers has 1-2 standing; Sixers 1-1, and G-Stars 0-2.
