The Oche’s secured their win after jumping to a 16-point lead ahead of Marianas Resort Spa in the first quarter.
Oches’ JR Barrios led his team to a good start, scoring 6 points early in the game.
Marianas Resort Spa had difficulty scoring against the Oches’ fast-paced defense; Marianas Resort’s Naitan Kapileo tried to turn the game around in the third quarter, handing in a couple quick 2-pointers before the buzzer ended the third quarter.
Oches’ players maintained steady resistance by making constant baskets. Oches’ player and leading scorer Mike Ulaytiman punched in 20 points throughout the game, followed by Barrios who scored 18 points.
Marianas Resort Spa players put up a good fight in the final quarter of the game, where they knocked a combined total of 26 points. The time ran out however, before they could go any further.
Armatech 101, Wings Travel 76
As the team captain, coach, and score leader for the Armatechs, Elmer Esdrelon led his team to victory in the fourth game of the Emon Lodge No. 179 Basketball Invitational Tournament, winning against Wings Travel, 101-76.
Along with Esdrelon, Brandon Talanig and Sam Fernandez upheld Armatech’s firm offensive line, where the three scored a combined total of 57 points.
After scoring 28 points while only allowing Wings Travel to score 12, Armatech didn’t have much to worry after the first quarter except maintaining their defense.
Armatech took control of the rebounds during most of the game, which gave them an advantage against their opponents.
By the end of the second half, Armatech’s Bruce Berline and Junar Guiab were able to get their hands on the ball, boosting their team by 14 points.
