With 48 women and 62 men, the number of those joining this time is bigger than last year, Villagomez told Variety in an e-mail.
The second summer coed league that kicked off its pre-season games on June 10 is seen to be NMIFA opportunity to discover potentials as the organization continue to become aggressive in bringing up the NMI to the international football scene.
NMIFA is now an active member of East Asia Football Federation, a step forward to the Asian Football Confederation as NMI continues to work it out to the Federation of International Football Association family.
Six teams, two of them Devil’s Advocates and Captain Morgans have already submitted their rosters. The other teams, Villagomez said have yet to think of the team monikers.
Today’s game will between Devil’s Advocates and the team led by Jason Shroeder.
Tomorrow, Captain Morgans will face the team coached by Dean Tenorio and on Thursday, Steve McKagan’s will take on Greg Borja’s team.
Villagomez said the league is still looking for more females to play. The cost is $15 for eight-week season.
