Paire FC’s Heman Addy slips past a Men’s Development Team player during a Marianas Soccer League 1 game at the NMI Soccer Training Center on Wednesday.
PAIRE Football Club earned their first win of the Marianas Soccer League 1 2024 season by outlasting the Men’s Development Team with a midgame comeback, 2-1, at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Wednesday.
MDT established control of the tempo early and gradually broke through Paire’s line of defense with overwhelming offensive pressure. After 15 minutes of back-and-forth action, MDT’s Bennet Haro connected the opening goal for a 1-0 lead.
MDT then focused on covering the weakside but they could not hold their ground as they were given a taste of their own medicine with Gabriel Arkoh finding the back of the net at the 26th minute mark to even the score before halftime, 1-1.
Throughout the second half, both teams exchanged a series of attacks with a handful of near misses to keep both spectators and players on their toes. However, as the dust settled, it was Paire’s crafty teamwork that allowed Arkoh to drain his second goal at the 74th minute mark to seal the deal, 2-1.
In an earlier game on Sunday, Paire lost 2-3 to United Football Club, which notched its third win.
