“Because of a lot of teams saying they cannot afford the $400 entrance fee” the Saipan Cellular Network and PCA, has adjusted the amount to $200, Aguon said.
In an e-mail to Variety, Aguon also mentioned there are five teams that have confirmed their participation in the tournament.
He did not say the names of the teams yet, but PCA is still open for team applications and registrations until today, Friday, September 19.
Closing time is 5 p.m.
Based on the rules and regulations of the tournament, a minimum of eight teams and a maximum of 12 teams will be accepted to participate in the games.
“The price money is also changed to $500,” he said.
Earlier, the Saipan Cell/PCA softball tournament has announced that it is offering $1,000 cash prize, plus a carved trophy for the champion team.
He reminded those interested groups to secure registration forms from the NMC Gym.
Aguon is one of the officers and coordinators of the softball tournament.
The Saipan Cell/PCA Softball Tournament will be held on September 20, 21, 27, and 28.
The games will implement a double elimination format.
Aguon invites everyone to get in touch with him at NMC Gym at 234-5498, extension 2500.
