The Rollers Basketball Club had just sent a good number of players to the 2010 Take Care Thanksgiving Hoop Fest in Guam and had just recently come back from their trip and they wish to work harder and improve their game.
The tournament will have two co-ed categories in the 12 and under division as well as the 15 and under division.
The games are scheduled to occur every night from inception night to the finals night from 5 pm to 8 pm.
The entrance fee per team is $100 and each team is permitted to have up to 12 players.
6 teams are already expected to join and other teams have shown reasonable interest to the tourney. There are still open slots available to everyone who is interested in joining.
The 12 and under games will have two 16 minute periods with a break provided in between the halves, while the 15 and under division will have two 20 minutes periods with a break provided in between as well.
The tournament will incorporate either a round robin or bracket-style format for the game, it will all depend on how many teams show up for the tourney.
Equipment and drinks will be provided for the teams, but everyone is encouraged to bring their own and to keep hydrated at all times throughout the game to steer clear away from a trip to the Commonwealth Health Center.
Trophies will be awarded to the Top 2 teams in each division. The Sportsmanship Award is all up for grabs along with the Most Valuable Player Awards and other prizes will also be made available such as basketballs and sports accessories.
The MVP’s will be recognized during the awards ceremony. For more information please contact Joe Diaz, 670-483-1791.
