The tournament which donates proceeds to a chosen community group each year will be held at the Marianas Country Club in Marpi on November 8, according to tournament coordinator, Jess I. Wabol.
The proceeds of year’s tournament, he said will go to Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School.
In the past tournaments, the Turkey Shoot usually earned over $1,000.
The RGA donated last year’s proceeds to Saipan Southern High School. In 2006, the group donated $1,050 to Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The year before that, Wabol also recalled they also donated proceeds for a toy drive for NMI children and years earlier, they donated it to Manamko’.
The RGA is optimistic that this year’s beneficiary will be more fortunate because assigned from the tournament’s new name, it will also be open to all golfers who wish to join, unlike in the previous years when it is restricted only to RGA members.
If the Turkey Shoot tournaments in the past with limited participants that range from only 20 to 25 can earn as much as $1,000, this year, Wabol estimates can be earn much.
Tournament fee for RGA Memorial Classic will $100.
