‘Rites to Pass’ earned tonight

Trench Tech Purebred Saipan promoter Cuki Alvarez said tonight’s event will be “high-octaned, high-energy and fast-paced,” as fighters step in to the octagon to prove themselves and in the process, will catch the attention of scouts from Pacific Extreme Combat, Fury Fighting Islands and Trench Warz.

Yesterday when the fighters met, they had a better sense of what to expect.

“They can now program it in their minds and burn it to their fighting senses,” Alvarez said.

But most importantly, the fighters will have considerable amount of self-confidence once they get in to the cage.

MMA in the CNMI, he also noted has evolved in the last five years and that the fighters look more prepared.

For the first time, ROP 8 is having a bigger number of fighters from Tinian.

Alvarez said it is great that Tinian has its new breed of fighters following Keli “The Rukiz” Manglona’s feat when he won the NMI’s first title belt in MMA.

Seven of them are about to get the rites of passage tonight, Alvarez aid and it is a good thing to know that the warriors from Tinian are coming out to the this show and trying to make a big hit in the MMA stage.

Josh Castro of Zengzugn Clothing said Tinian’s Magnificent 7 are highly motivated.

They have been watching MMA events all these years, he said and they always believed they can do it as well.

And that they are now in, the Tinian cage warriors can say “they really can do it.”

When they faced off with their respective opponents during the weigh-in, the fighters, he said felt “a whole lot better now,”

The Korean Top Team who will be in the triple main event that will high light ROP 8 Fearless also showed confidence during the weigh-in.

Alvarez said the Korean fighters looked ready to put their high-level talents and skills against Saipan’s best.
