Spectators held on to the edge of their seats as they witness a seesaw of scores between the two rival teams.
As Rollers I fought to take hold of the top position of the Rotary caging league, G-Stars struggled to prevent two losses.
Rollers I went full blast with their gameplan, which somehow got derailed for sometime as they tried to charge through G-Stars’ defense.
Manny Matagolai fired a total of 30 points in the entire match, and still seemed to have the energy to score some more, if only time would have allowed.
The buzzer rang against G-Stars without outshining Rollers I on their way to the top of the Rotary youth caging league.
Rollers I now holds seven wins and one loss, while G-Stars has a 4-2 win-lose card in their sleeves.
The game got tied at 50 with Matagolai’s two pointer of a play under the basket.
A foul was committed on the floor, allowing G-Stars to send Nate Mateo behind the free-throw line. He only scored one point, out of two attempts, thereby creating only a single point deficit against Rollers I.
But Rollers I’s Albert Camacho laid up a two-pointer to bring his team to 52.
Dino Palacios of G-Stars responded to Camacho’s shot with his own two points.
The board said: 53 for G-Stars.
It was a seesaw of an event during that moment.
By the time both teams got tied at 60 points, G-Stars lost their luster.
Until Matagolai bled five last shots in the closing minutes of the second quarter, sealing the match for Rollers I.
Rollers I has one more make up game left in the league.
It will face Chalan Kanoa Saints today at the Ada Gym.
The buzzer sounded, signaling the endgame for G-Stars that night.
