Ruback, IT&E, Lancheros win in Belau Masters opening

Otes Olkeriil led-off a walk before Theo Minor hit an RBI single and Payton Sakuma, an RBI triple as they launched the rally in the bottom of the first.

Rufino Aguon tripled, Roland Tangelbad doubled before Poland Yamada drove-in a run with a sacrifice fly.

Olkeriil took his second chance on the batting plate and rocketed a two-run home run to cap an 11-run bottom of the first inning.

The Salty Boys rallied in the top of the third with Highness Asanuma and Luis Ngiraikelau knocking in an RBI single apiece, and Percy Omechelang blasting a two-run single.

John Andres also fired an RBI triple to help the Salty Boys cut the lead down to five runs.

The Rubacks sluggers sent the Salty Boys defenders on a series of catching errors that resulted to three more runs stretching the lead again.

Olkeriil fired a solo home run in the fifth inning and Reno Celis knocked-in an RBI single and the Rubacks never looked back.

IT&E 7, Peleliu 6

With one out in the bottom of the first, Jess Omar walked before Jack Diaz moved him to scoring spot with a single.

Then, Ed Kapileo and Newman Techur hit an RBI single apiece, and Tom Diaz fired a run-scoring double to set the lead.

Pepi Tenorio singled before Omar left the batting plate on a fly ball but Diaz picked it up by knocking-in an RBI single.

With Pail Ogumoro, Darwin Masaharu and Norman Mobel hitting an RBI single apiece, the Peleliu sluggers rallied to tie the ball game in the top of the fourth inning.

But the IT&E fielders held the back by keeping them scoreless in three straight innings.

Then, Ed Kapileo knocked-in a single to send Omar to score the winning run in the bottom of the fifth.

Lancheros 17, Red Men 2

Joe Lizama knocked-in run-scoring triple in the second and third inning, and James Kintol fired a two-run single in the first to help the Lancheros rout the Red Men.

Ray Aldan and Donald Crisostomo added run-scoring single in the second, while Bill Aguon and Kintol had drove-in runs on an error and single respectively in the third inning.

Jack Reyes rockted an inside-the-park home run to finish off the Red Men.
