Run Saipan’s 4th Annual Half Marathon set for Saturday

RUN Saipan’s 4th Annual Half Marathon 2025 will kick off this Saturday, Aug. 30. This year, in addition to the 50 slots available for the half marathon distance, Run Saipan has upgraded its 5K fun run to a 10K fun run, offering 80 slots for that category.

The races will follow the original Saipan Marathon 21K route, starting and ending at Micro Beach Road next to Marianas Beach Resort. The half marathon route will take runners south on Beach Road, with the turnaround point at Pacific Islands Club Saipan. The course starts at 5 a.m., with a three-hour cut-off time enforced.

For the 10K, the race begins at 6:30 a.m. at American Memorial Park, proceeds to First Hawaiian Bank on Beach Road, and returns to the start. No age division awards will be given for the 10K. All participants will receive an event T-shirt and finisher medal, as well as an XL breakfast platter at the finish line.

Awards for the half marathon will go to the overall top three male and female finishers, as well as age division winners based on World Athletics Standards: 19–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, and 65 and above. For the 10K, awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers, along with the top three in the under-18 (U18) boys and girls categories (athletes must be 16 or 17 years old on Dec. 31 of the competition year).

Run Saipan President Edward Dela Cruz Jr. is urging motorists to exercise caution from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Beach Road from American Memorial Park to the Pacific Islands Club during the races. “Thank you to Department of Public Safety Commissioner Macaranas and team for always providing community support for our races,” said Dela Cruz.

He also recognized and thanked the Pacific Islands Club, Saipan International School, Saipan Southern High School and Marianas High School’s National Honor Society, Northern Marianas Athletics, The Water Company, Saipan Community Church, Church of the Nazarene, Cha Cafe, NMI News Service, and Marianas Variety for supporting health and wellness in the community.
