Run The Oleai Track event today, May 22

NORTHERN Marianas Athletics will host Run The Oleai Track today, Thursday, May 22, at the Oleai Sports Complex from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

It will be an exciting day of running events with the proceeds supporting NMA athletes’ participation in the 2025 Pacific Mini Games, which will be held in Palau from June 29 to July 9.

The Run the Oleai Track events include the 1600m, 5000m, and a 5000m community fun run/walk.

The mile run consists of the under 14 and open divisions with limited entries.

The 5000m mixed competitive race will have 20 entries only with medals for the top three male and female finishers.

The 5000m community fun run will have runners under 25 minutes running on lanes 1 through 4 while runners 25 minutes and above will be running the outer lanes.

NMA invites runners of all ages and skill levels — from top local athletes to recreational runners — to test their speed and endurance on the track in the 5000-meter and 1 mile run.

The event aims to promote competitive spirit, physical fitness, and community engagement through athletics.

“We’re thrilled to bring the community together for a classic 5K track event,” Northern Marianas Athletics President Ramon Tebuteb said.

“The 5000m is a true test of will power and pacing, and we hope to inspire a new generation of runners through events like this,” he added.

Run the Oleai Track 5000m will feature various heats based on performance level, ensuring a fun and fair experience for all participants. Official timing will be provided.
