Santos leads Blue Hauz past Ferrera in QQ caging

The Ferrera Builders nearly put an end to team Blue Hauz’s perfect record but center player Edwin Santos cut through the back door and with a quick side step and assist from teammate Brandon Talania, Santos nailed the basket needed to keep their unscathed record intact, 81-79.

The Ferrera Builders ran the show during the first half of the game. Wowie marked seven points nabbing an early 17-14 deficit.

James Abuy bagged four straight three-pointer shots for a total of 12 points for the Ferrera Builders while teammate Abuel collared another four to stretch their lead to five points, 44-39.

With a sudden twist of events Blue Hauz managed to close the gap at the bottom of the third quarter after Bernard Aquino surged past the Ferrera Builders with eight points, 63-63.

It all came down to the last period of the hair-raising event. Blue Hauz’s Zack Diaz and Brandon Talania scored five points apiece after a moment’s silence from both sides.

Robert Tamundong answered this call with a bold shot made behind the three-pointer line followed by another three-pointer from James Abuy to save the Ferrera Builders.

Abuy nailed another three-pointer to tie the game at 79 points all with seven seconds left in the fourth quarter.

Blue Hauz was left in possession of the ball with the clock ticking down. Talania received a quick inbound pass at three seconds.

One prayer shot from teammate Edwin Santos put their entire record on the line and in a moment’s heartbeat team Blue Hauz won, 81-79.

Mobil slams Rollers Madness, 78-72

Jun Estolas’ 9 point surge during the last quarter of the game saved team Mobil from the Rollers Madness during the second game of the 2nd Season QQ Car Rental Basketball league, 78-72.

Gyles Ruluked and teammate Juan Maratita collared six points apiece during the first quarter of the game to grab the driver’s seat of the game, 19-17.

Manny Matagolai of the Rollers Madness grabbed seven points to break even with team Mobil at the bottom of the first half, 35 points all.

Team Mobil broke away again during the third quarter with Angelo Fernando’s six points, 50-52.

The Rollers managed to shut the lead during the last two minutes of the quarter at 72 points all followed by a time-out call from team Mobil.

Mobil’s center player George De Guzman shot a jumper to foil the Rollers followed by two charity shots from Jun Estolas and teammate Juan Maratita to secure the win away from the Rollers Madness, 78-72.
