ROTA’S Sinapalo Elementary School soccer team paid a visit to Saipan to play four exhibition matches in the elementary school division of the NMIFA-PSS Interscholastic League SY23-24 on  Friday and Saturday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

Against Koblerville Elementary School 2, Sinapalo had a tough time in finding their footing.

The first half was a fairly even match between both teams. But KoES 2’s Patrick Jacoba managed to slip through to find the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. Several back-and-forth exchanges then filled the remainder of the first half with neither team able to score a goal.

At the start of the second half, Sinapalo started to find their rhythm, allowing Ethan Toves to squeeze a goal to even the odds. But KoES2 struck back within the same minute with two goals by Jacoba and Tickson Cosmes to secure victory, 3-1.

Sinapalo suffered the same fate in their match against San Vicente Elementary School 2 on Friday afternoon.

In the first half, Sinapalo allowed SVES 2 only one goal. However, SVES 2 heated up in the second half, scoring five goals courtesy of Amaru Younis, Derek Teregeyo, Keriana Kich, Izaiah Haro and Zayne Reyes. Sinapalo could only score one goal before settling for defeat, 1-6.

On Saturday, Sinapalo notched their first win by beating Brillian Star School 2, 6-3.

Sinapalo’s Jhaeden Greenman and Manuel Pinaula Jr. led the assault with two goals each while teammates Ethan Toves and Ibrahim Shak each contributed a goal.

For their fourth match, Sinapalo faced Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School, which won 7-2.
