The Saipan’s major leaguers, however, will be challenged by a far-from-ordinary baseball team from Korea.
Known as the Invincible Baseball Team, the visiting squad is composed comedians, fashion models, singers and actors.
“This is another unique opportunity for our islands to gain some positive exposure in Korea,” Marianas Visitors Authority managing director, Perry Tenorio said.
Tenorio welcomes members of the community “to come down and cheer for both teams in this friendly competition.”
The team arrived yesterday morning from Seoul with television crews and personalities in tow.
The entertainer-players who are facing the Saipan sluggers are Shin Dong Ho, Kim Hyung Jun, Jung Han Lim, Her Jun, Lee Kyung Pil, Cho Hyun Joon, Lee Hyun Bae, Oh Ji Ho, Han Min Kwan, Marcos Benjamin Lee, Kim Chang Youl, and Lee Deun Bae.
The team is managed by Pak Jee Yung and coached by Kim Jang Hoon.
